Morning walkers found the charred body of Venugopal Reddy, a final-year MCA student of Lalitha Engineering College in the city’s outskirts. The body was found near the Tagore stadium on the Osmania University campus.

Later students from nearby colleges boycotted classes and rushed to the university. The police said a note purportedly written by Reddy was found near the body. The note said he was disappointed with the delay in formation of Telangana. University authorities cancelled examinations scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Joint Action Committee on Telangana called for a two-day bandh in Telangana.
