For social activist Anna Hazare, overhauling the political system can strengthen the country.

"A mere change of a political party at the Centre will not make a difference because the entire system requires overhauling," said Hazare while addressing people during the Jantantra Yatra here on Sunday.

He said corrupt leaders and bureaucracy had weakened the country. "My struggle will continue till the jan lokpal bill is not passed."

Criticising the Centre for the pitiable condition of farmers, Hazare said: "Land is being snatched from farmers. They are compelled to commit suicide. But, it won't last long. The leaders at the helm will face the consequences." He added that the day was not far when people would unite and corrupt leaders would be in jail. "The youth of the nation has woken up."

Former army chief Gen VK Singh, who is accompanying Hazare, said: "The situation in the country is grim. One can get pizza at home in 20 minutes but a dying person cannot get an ambulance in hours."
