A dalit youth's claim that he was forced by a group of caste Christians to eat human excreta at a village in Dindigul district recently has been found to be "fabricated", senior officials told the Madras High Court in Madurai on Thursday.

human faeces on January 7 for walking in their colony wearing footwear at Melakovilpatti hamlet in Dindigul district.
An inquiry by the Revenue Divisional Officer showed that the allegation was "fabricated" and there was "not even an iota of truth", Collector M Vallalar and Superintendent of Police S M Muthusaamy said in their report to the Madurai bench of the court.
The report said C Arockiasamy of Melakovilpatti had lodged a complaint with Batlagundu Police station against Sadayandi on January 7, claiming that he had robbed him of cash in an inebriated state after abusing and threatening him. There was previous enmity between the two, the report said.
The next day, Sadayandi alleged that Arockiasamy and 11 others had made derogatory remarks against his caste, and beat him, before forcing him to eat human excreta.
The officials' report said Sadayandi got himself admitted to the Government Hospital after lodging a complaint and refused to give a statement to the Village Administrative Officer when he visited the hospital.
Subsequently he absconded and his whereabouts were not known. "People in the village are living harmoniously and there has been no untoward incident," the report said.
The court directed police to get a report from the doctor and posted the case for Feb 16.
