Three officials of the Jammu and Kashmir information department, including the Anantnag district information officer, were put under suspension after chief minister Omar Abdullah failed to address a rally in the district due to a glitch in the public address system on Saturday.

Anantnag district information officer Tanveer Ahmad and two other officials were placed under suspension after the public address system stopped functioning as the chief minister was about to begin his speech in Bijbehara town of the district, said the officials.

The chief minister then left the venue without addressing the gathering, they added.
