Three held for raping Sirsa woman

Police have arrested three persons on the charges of abducting and raping a 20-year-old woman of Mammadkhera village of the district on Saturday.


The victim stated that she was abducted by two men while she was returning from fields on January 15.

She said they took her to a village in Rajasthan where two more men joined them and gangraped her.

While the three arrested have been identified as Rajinder Kumar, 22, resident of Mammadkhera, Kheta Ram and Satnam Singh, both residents of Rajasthan state, their fourth accomplice is still on the run.

Meanwhile, the victim's parents had got a missing complaint registered with the Rania police station. The victim said she managed to give them a slip and reached her village on Thursday.

The victim, along with her family, approached the police on Friday and got a rape case registered against the unidentified people. Ellenabad deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Ravinder Singh said: "Teams have been constituted to arrest the fourth accused at the earliest."
