While a 13-year-old from a backward caste was allegedly drugged and gangraped in Bhiwani district by three persons, a 14-year-old Dalit was allegedly gangraped by four men in Hisar district. In Faridabad district, a man allegedly raped his 20-year-old neighbour.

The number of rape cases reported across Haryana in the last two months has now risen to 26.

The Bhiwani victim, a Class 7 student, was abducted by two masked men on a motorcycle when she was going to a neighbour's house on November 7. She was taken to a secluded spot, where a third man joined her abductors.

In Hisar, the daughter of a daily wage labourer was gangraped when she was alone at home on November 3.

The girl's father said he was pressured by some villagers to strike a compromise with the accused, but elders of his community took him to the police.

"All the four accused in the case have been arrested," said Hisar superintendent of police B Satheesh Balan.

In Faridabad, the accused allegedly raped the woman after giving her sedative-laced food, police said.
