Three special trains announced to clear festival rush

Southern Railway has announced three special trains between Chennai-Mangalore, Nagercoil-Velankanni and Chennai-Nagercoil to clear the rush of passengers during Onam and Velankanni festival seasons.
    
Chennai Central-Mangalore Junction spuerfast special would leave Chennai on September 14 and 29 at 9 PM and reach Mangalore at 12.45 PM the following day respectively, a Railway release said.
    
The return trains would leave Mangalore at 2.45 pm on September 15 and 22 and reach Chennai at 7.45 the following day respectively, it said.
    
Nagercoil-Velankanni specials would leave Nagercoil at 2 PM on August 27 and reach Velankanni at 3 AM the following day, while the return train would leave Velankanni at 1 PM and arrive at Nagercoil at 2.45 AM, it said.
    Chennai Central-Nagercoil specials would leave Chennai at 5.40 PM on September 7 and reach Nagercoil at 9.30 AM the following day, while the return train would leave Nagercoil at 1.20 PM on September 8 and would arrive at Chennai at 5 AM the following day, it added.
