Following HuJI terrorists' confession during interrogation that Ayodhya was on their radar, security was tightened in the holy city. The police have launched strict checking since Monday night.

A team of officials arrived from Lucknow to conduct raids at possible hideouts in the town. The police raided dharamshalas, hotels, guest houses in various localities and questioned people at these places, till late Monday night.

Policemen were posted at all entry points including railway stations.

The checking is likely to continue for a few more days. Officials, however, refused to give any details.
