TN: Teenager arrested on charges of kidnapping

A 19-year-old boy has been arrested on charges of kidnapping a minor girl, police said on Saturday.


Narrating details of the case, police said four 15-year-old girls studying at a government school in Pallipalayam had on May 13 left home with four boys.

When they did not return, their parents complained to police.

Police traced them to Kanyakumari on May 16 and brought them to Namakkal.

As one girl refused to go with her parents, police registered a case for kidnapping against her lover, a 19-year-old boy.

He has been remanded to 15-days judicial custody and lodged in the Trichengode sub-jail,sources said, adding the other boys and girls were warned and allowed to go with their parents.
