Police has arrested two persons who allegedly gang raped a minor girl inside a government office in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the premises of the child development project office in Bhandaripokhari block of the district, about 100 km east of Bhubaneswar.

“The two men, aged 25 and 32, were arrested after the girl’s father lodged a complaint. We have sent the girl for medical examination,” Bhandaripokhari police station inspector in charge BK Mohapatra said on Monday.

The girl’s father is also a government employee staying in a quarter in the complex.

The two men, one of them a watchman of the office, allegedly asked the 15-year-old girl, who was playing in the complex with her friends, to fetch them drinking water. When she came into the office, they dragged her into a room and raped her.

Her father frantically searched for her when she did not return home for a long time and found her in the office in a state of shock.
