Two Hizb terrorists killed in J&K gunbattle

Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were gunned down by security forces in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Acting on specific information about the presence of ultras, troops of 52 Rashtriya Rifles cordoned off the Tarzoo-Sopore area, 55 kms from Srinagar on Saturday morning, a defence spokesman said.

The terrorists hiding in a house opened fire on the troops and in the ensuing gunbattle two ulltras were killed.

The operation was continuing when reports last came in, he added.

The slain terrorists were affiliated to the Hizbul Mujahideen outfit, the spokesman said.
