Two killed in wall collapse in Sitapur

An elderly person and his granddaughter were killed and three others of the same family were injured after the wall of their house collapsed at Chadra village in Maholi area in Sitapur, police said on Monday.

The incident took place Sunday morning due to rains when Chhotelal (50) and his granddaughter Radha (6) were sleeping and the wall of their house collapsed, killing them on the spot, they said.

Three other members of the family, who were injured have been rushed to the hospital where their condition is stated to be stable, police said. Sub Divisional Magistra(SDM), Maholi KN Upadhayay said that a financial help of Rs. 1.5 lakh would be given to the family of the victims.
