Two monkeys on Sunday entered the departure hall of the international airport in Chennai triggering panic among passengers and airport employees.
Airport officials sought the services of fire and rescue personnel to help evict the simians.
The monkeys were spotted at Gate 18 near the international terminal’s departure hall Sunday evening and they were seen criss-crossing the steel framework supporting the ceiling, airport sources said.
Fire and Rescue services personnel are also likely to be helped by ‘Narikoravas’ (gypsies) to catch them.
Passengers and employees at the airport were panic-stricken as the monkeys ran around the premises.
