External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj is one of the most active politicians on Twitter and takes to the social media to reach out to help Indians, especially from the diaspora, who are caught in a crisis.
On Monday, she received an unusual request.
A man, known as Venkat on Twitter, wanted the minister’s help in replacing a defective refrigerator. He tweeted the product number as well as the serial number of the faulty machine.
He also tagged Union minister for consumer affairs, food and public distribution Ram Vilas Paswan for maximum impact.
Two minutes after his request, the minister known for her prompt responses on Twitter gave a candid reply.

The response from the minister, who reports say is the most followed female world leader with more than five million followers, was re-tweeted at least 5,700 times.
Hours later, Venkat even thanked Swaraj despite his failure in getting the faulty piece of machine replaced.
He mentioned how her tweeted reply would have made people aware of Samsung’s “disgraceful service and products”.
The external affairs minister Twitter account has been responding promptly to people’s distress calls across the world and has helped the from time to time.
Meanwhile, the conversation sparked a hilarious series of tweets with some laughing on Venkat’s purpose of tweet while many other giving him alternative solutions:
