2) Kerala man who joined Islamic State dies in Afghanistan drone strike

A man from Kerala, among those who allegedly joined Islamic State in Afghanistan, has been killed in a drone attack, family sources said on Sunday. The mother of Hafeezuiddin, a 24-year-old man from Kasargod in north Kerala, received a message via the Telegram app on Saturday night that her son was dead, sources said.

9) Actor Bill Paxton, known for roles in Big Love and Titanic, dies at 61

American actor Bill Paxton, who rose to stardom with roles in Hollywood blockbusters such as “Aliens” and “Titanic,” has died at age 61 after complications from surgery. For his role in “Apollo 13,” Paxton won a Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture in 1996. He was also nominated for three Golden Globe Awards.
