Woman attacked with scissors in Ambala, dies

A man killed a woman after repeatedly attacking her with scissors at Ghel village near Ambala City on Saturday.

The incident occurred at 10am, when Jagtar alias Billu attacked Sunita (35), the victim, when she was on her way to the hospital, where her son was admitted.

Locals said the mother of three children was going to see her ailing child, when the assailant inflicted injuries on her with a scissors.

They said that the victim sustained injuries on neck, chest and abdomen and was rushed to the civil hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Residents added that Sunita's 11-year-old son Gurtej was with her when she was attacked adding that no one from the area came to her rescue.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Ashok Kumar also reached the spot and later a police party headed by SHO Ajaib Singh arrested the perpetrator, who is also a resident of the same village.

The DCP said a case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered against Billu, who would be produced in court on March 31.

Officials said the body has been handed over to the family after conducting the post-mortem.

Locals said the victim and the accused were known to each other adding that she used to spurn Billu's advances. They said her husband Ram Kumar was working at a private firm.
