Woman held for human trafficking

Police have arrested a woman on charges of human trafficking. Three other accused are on the run.


Seema 'Guddu', who was arrested on Friday, Satish, Sonu and Sevak Singh have been accused of taking a 20-year-old girl to Sirsa from Delhi and forcing her to work as a prostitute.

"A case has been registered under Section 370 A (buying or disposing of any person) of the IPC against the four accused. The girl says in her complaint that she is a native of Salda in West Bengal. Sevak Singh had called the girl to Sirsa and took her to Seema's home," station house officer (SHO) Dalip Singh said.

At night, the SHO said, Seema handed over the girl to Sonu and Satish. They took her to three unidentified men. The girl managed to escape from their custody and reached the police station.

The SHO said arrangements had been made to send the girl to her home.

Police to conduct polygraphic test on DIG Paraskar

The Mumbai crime branch has sent a letter to deputy inspector general Sunil Paraskar in a bid to seek his permission to conduct a polygraphic and lie detector tests on him. While the police are awaiting a response from Paraskar, the officials said that they would soon approach the court to seek its permission.
