Woman resists men, pushed under truck

Seven men in an inebriated condition pushed a woman under the wheels of a speeding truck, leading to her death, after she took on them and resisted their harassment, police said.

B Susheela and her daughter were returning home after shopping at around 10 pm and the men had just come out of a bar and started heckling them. When the woman hit back and shouted at them, they roughed up Susheela and pushed her in the way of a speeding truck.

Seriously injured in Monday’s incident at Tenali town, she was rushed to a hospital at nearby Mangalagiri town, where she died on Tuesday. All the seven persons have been arrested.
