Women's Commission seeks action against tempo driver

Women's commission of Puducherry has sought police intervention seeking action against a tempo driver who had allegedly assaulted a woman driver at the general hospital in Puducherry.

S Kamalini, Commission Chairperson said the woman driver was picking up passengers at the general hospital in Puducherry on thursday. A tempo driver approached her and allegedly attacked her for taking in passengers.

The woman driver brought this to the notice of the Women's Commission and they immediately informed the police to take action against the tempo driver.

Kamailini said the commission never intended to cause hardship to anyone. "Whenever the limits were transgressed to the detriment of women the commission would intervene," she told press persons.
