It was an occasion to cherish for Assam cricket, instead the first international match here in seven years turned out to be quite a harrowing experience for the covering media and spectators present at the stadium. (India vs Australia 2nd T20 Updates)

Especially, the experience turned out to be quite poor for the mediapersons present. The glass panel was so unclear that some journalists took it upon themselves to clean it in order to see the match.

Even some of the washrooms had no light as it made life difficult for the viewers present. While top Assam Cricket Association officials like vice-president Debojit Saikia and secretary Pradip Borgohain assured immediate help, it did not come soon.

Queries about basic facilities like water too were met with muted response, until almost the middle overs in Indian innings. Even the internet connection at the media box was quite sporadic.

While ACA has set its sights on hosting bigger matches in future, there start to that journey was definitely filled with hiccups.
