Umesh Yadav completes 100 ODI wickets in India vs Australia Bangalore game

Umesh Yadav reached 100 ODI wickets in the fourth game of the ongoing India vs Australia ODI series, becoming the 17th Indian bowler to achieve the feat.

Umesh Yadav entered a special list of Indian cricket team bowlers as he picked up 100 ODI wickets during the fourth one-dayer against Australia cricket team at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Thursday. (IND vs AUS 4th ODI Highlights)

After a rusty start in his first spell where he was taken apart by David Warner (124) and Finch (94), he came back stronger in the second spell. In the 36th over, in his first over of his second spell, Umesh flummoxed Finch for 94 with a slower ball to move to 99 wickets. In the next over of his spell, Umesh managed to get skipper Steve Smith to flick to Virat Kohli at mid wicket to take his 100th wicket. (IND vs AUS 4th ODI Scorecard)

Umesh ended the match with four wickets, giving away 71 runs as Australia scored 334/5 in 50 overs.

In the process, Umesh became the 17th Indian bowler to take achieve the feat of taking 100 ODI wickets. He became the ninth Indian pacer to enter this club. Javagal Srinath is the leading Indian pacer, having taken 315 wickets from 229 ODIs.

The performances of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been a revelation in the ongoing India vs Australia series. It has been so consistent that the likes of Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav were rested for the first three ODIs.
