Murali Vijay says India comeback is like ‘baby coming out of mother’s womb’
Murali Vijay, who missed the Indian Premier League and the series against Sri Lanka due to a wrist injury, has been included in the Indian cricket team for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.
Making a comeback into the Test team after a long layoff due to injury, opener Murali Vijay said it feels like he is starting anew.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Mumbai versus Tamil Nadu Ranji Trophy match, on how he looks forward to the tough season coming up, Murali Vijay said: “I am like a baby coming out of a mother’s womb now. So just looking forward to the matches, to play, to contribute to be more consistent then what I was. Actually there is no pressure on me because I know what to do at that level. Just want to go there and get a feel of it and contribute to India winning abroad.”
The opening batsman said the mental aspect of the game was more important when coming back from an injury.
“The mental aspect is more important for me. I am just coming out of an injury and I want to eradicate all the doubts on that side of my brain so I am just looking forward for ... as much time possible I want to stay in this match and take it from there.”
