Did MS Dhoni celebrate his last birthday with the Indian cricket team or will the former skipper stay on till the 2019 World Cup?

It seems this was the last birthday MS Dhoni celebrated with the Indian cricket team. With questions rising over his ability to win matches, the former India skipper, who celebrated his 36th birthday on Friday here, is beginning to feel the pressure of retaining his spot in the team.

On Sunday, he failed to get going when the need of the hour was to up the run rate and help the team post a strong total.

Although Virat Kohli has defended him, saying that he is still good enough and is striking the ball well, the fact that his birthday was celebrated with much fanfare, with friends flying in to Jamaica from India for the occasion, lent substance to speculations that he may not continue for long.

The arrival of his manager-cum-friend Arun Pandey, and others especially for this occasion, left everyone intrigued. The team clicked pictures with him, almost as if it is going to be his last birthday with him.

MS Dhoni helped India win the third ODI but floundered in the fourth as he failed to take the team past the finish line even though they needed run-a-ball.

In Sunday’s Twenty20 International, even as India needed him to step on the gas, he fell for just two off three deliveries.
