A local court on Friday convicted eleven persons in a carnage case pepetrated by the outlawed Ranvir Sena, a private militia of landlords at Nagri bazar under Pokhri police station in Bhojpur district on May 11, 1998.

Additional district judge A K Srivstava found them guilty of killing eleven villagers and fixed August 12 for announcing the quantum of punishment.

The court, however, acquitted four others named in the case for want of sufficient evidence.
