Sources said that those who were involved in the clash used sharp-edged weapons and sticks against one another. On receiving the news of clash, policemen rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control. Six persons were arrested in this connection.
Sources said that a row over removing stagnant water from the road triggered off the clash. A lot of water had accumulated on a portion of the road, leading to Karchhna from Jari market. The stagnant water caused a lot of inconvenience to the people.
Owing to difficulties being faced by them, some people decided to clean up the nearby drain so that the water can drain out. When the people began to work, one person who living in the area objected to the cleaning work as the garbage was getting accumulated in front of his house.
His objection triggered of an altercation between two groups: One was favouring the road clean-up work and the other objecting to it. The heated exchanges between the two groups soon turned into scuffle that took a violent turn.
The police officials said that those who were involved in the clash used sticks and sharp-edged weapons against one another. As soon as the news of clash reached the district headquarters, policemen rushed to the spot. They brought the situation under and arrested about half a dozen persons in connection with the clash. While the injured were sent to the hospital, the police said that the situation was tense but under control.
