Police clashed with suspected Taliban militants in southern Afghanistan, killing 11 insurgents, an official said on Tuesday.
A clash in Khakhtapul area of Helmand's Garmser district late on Monday, left 8 militants killed and four wounded, said Ghulam Rasool, a district police chief.
A separate clash in Miankhail area of the same district left three Taliban killed, he said.
There were no police casualties in either clash, Rasool said. Police recovered the dead bodies along with their weapons, he said. Some of those killed were Pakistanis, Rasool said.
