Police recovered 12 kilogram of opium worth Rs 1 crore and arrested two persons under NDPS Act.

During a routine checking, police intercepted a car near Uggi village in Nakodar area and recovered the contraband from the vehicle.

The occupants of the car, identified as Sukhwinder Singh Sabi, resident of Fawara village in Lambra area, and Dilbagh Singh, hailing from Khambra, were immediately arrested, police said.

A case under several Sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against the duo and efforts were on to track the transaction route.
