Police took 13 ‘suspicious’ persons into custody for interrogation from a religious place in Gopalpura village under Chaub-eypur police station on Monday afternoon. These suspects were being interrogated by senior cops at an undisclosed destination in the city.
The arrests were made as a precautionary measure in view of the Independence Day tomorrow.
The suspected persons revealed their identity to the police as members of ‘Tabliq Jamat' team from Andhra Pradesh.
According to information, cops of Chaubeypur police station got a tip off that some suspicious looking men were seen at a religious place in Gopalpura village. The cops reached the spot and took in custody as many as 13 persons for interrogation.
First they were taken to Chaubeypur police station and later to an undisclosed destination.
The detained persons from different parts of country including Andhra Pradesh, were being interrogated by senior cops and intelligence sleuths till the filing of this report.
Meanwhile, a crude bomb was found near Vajra Vidya Sansthan, at Khajuhi village under the Sarnath police station. Sensation gripped the area when two boys who were playing there, spotted the bomb. Soon, police rushed to the spot and made it ineffective with water.
