14 die in Kazakhstan bus crash

Fourteen people died on Wednesday when a bus collided with a truck in the Karaganda region of central Kazakhstan, the ex-Soviet republic's emergency agency said.

The truck caught fire, killing twelve people in the bus, including the driver, and also the driver of the truck and one of his two passengers, agency spokeswoman Natalya Kim said.

Thirteen other passengers were hospitalised with varying injuries, Kim said.

The bus was travelling on the road between the capital Astana and the biggest city Almaty in the south of the country.
