Three youths have been accused of gangraping a 14-year-old Dalit girl in a field and setting her on fire when she was on her way to a nearby town from her village in Ghazipur district on Friday, police said.

The girl has been admitted to the district hospital in a serious condition. The police have registered a case against three culprits in this connection. According to the police, the class 7 student left her home for a nearby Sivan town.

As she stepped out of the village, the three youths waylaid and dragged her to the sugarcane field. The trio then took turns to rape her. Later, they poured kerosene on her and set her afire before fleeing the place.

Some locals saw her and rushed her to the hospital. In the meantime, SO, Dulahpur police station, Ritendra Pratap Singh along with his team also reached the spot.
