17 Peacocks die due to intense heat

With mercury hovering around 47 degree celsius, 17 Peacocks have died in Kisan Nager area of Bundi district in the last two days, sources in district forest office said today. Taking serious note of the incident, District forest department has decided to distribute water Parindas (earthern water pots) to the villagers.

With mercury hovering around 47 degree celsius, 17 Peacocks have died in Kisan Nager area of Bundi district in the last two days, sources in district forest office said today.

Examination by the medical board has confirmed the deaths of 17 national bird due to dehydration in the last two days, DFO Vijay N told PTI.

Taking serious note of the incident, District forest department has decided to distribute water Parindas (earthern water pots) to the villagers.

Forest ranger of the area Govind Singh said water sources in Nainwa town region have dried up due to intense heat condition devoiding animals and birds of the drinking water.
