Two BSF jawans were injured after they were allegedly attacked by some nomad Gujjars near a border out post in Jammu district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident happened on Tuesday near Alpha Machail BoP in Kanachak, about 20 km from here, when the BSF jawans objected to the setting up of temporary huts by some nomad Gujjars in the area, they said.

Three nomads allegedly attacked the jawans with sticks following which the BSF men sustained serious head injuries, police said, adding that the injured were rushed to Government Medical College hospital here.

Later, police took the three accused into custody and registered a case against them under section 353 (assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty) and 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from discharging his duty) of Ranbir Penal Code.
