2 criminals held after encounter in Faridabad

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the Faridabad police arrested two notorious criminals during an encounter near the Neemka area, on Tuesday evening.

According to the police, the criminals have been identified as Neeraj Kumar of Faridpur in Faridabad and Yashpal of Agra in Uttar Pradesh.

The duo has confessed to their crimes, including the killing of an ambulance driver about two months ago.

Both the accused were in an Innova car when the CIA of Sector 30, on a tipoff chased them near the Neemka area.

The criminals fired at the police team. Kumar and Yashpal were arrested after a brief encounter, the police said.

According to the police, the duo has confessed to their involvement in a number of crimes.

"They have confessed to their crimes, including the killing of an ambulance driver about two months ago and firing at a sarpanch in Faridpur about 10 days ago," said R Singh, CIA incharge. The police have recovered pistols and live cartridges from the encounter site.

Both will be produced before a court on Wednesday.
