Breaking the lull, militants launched a grenade attack in Srinagar on Thursday evening, injuring two CRPF personnel. According to preliminary reports, militants hurled a grenade of high intensity towards a bunker in Srinagar's Kara Nagar area immediately after sunset.

A police officer confirmed that two CRPF personnel were treated for splinter injuries. The injured troopers were evacuated to the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital for treatment.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Thursday's attack in Srinagar came almost three months after ruling National Conference minister Ali Muhammad Sagar was attacked in December last year.
