2 killed, seven injured in blast

TWO PERSONS, including a four-year-old girl, died and seven were injured when detonators kept for deepening purpose accidentally exploded at village Zarda, some 75 km from Ujjain late Friday night.

TWO PERSONS, including a four-year-old girl, died and seven were injured when detonators kept for deepening purpose accidentally exploded at village Zarda, some 75 km from Ujjain late Friday night.

According to information, construction of shops on Zarda Health Centre premises by Rogi Kalyan Samiti was also on and gelatin rods were kept in the constructed shops for blasting of rocks.

The explosives suddenly went off at 12.40 am while some labourers were sleeping there. Devi Singh son of Dule Singh (40) and Tara daughter of Bapu Singh (four) died on the spot while seven were injured in the mishap.

The victims were dug out from the debris and were brought to the district hospital here. The condition of three injured is stated to be serious. All injured sustained severe burn injuries.
