Police said, some children playing near a garbage bin on Thursday saw some wires peeping out of the garbage and informed their parents, who in turn told the police.
Police rushed to the spot and found it to be pipe bombs.
One pipe contained two electric detonators, while the other non-electric detonators, connected to gelatine sticks, they said.
Bomb detection and diposal squad rushed to the spot and defused them in half an hour, police said, adding if exploded, the pipe bombs could have caused destruction in a radius of 40 feet.
A team of police officials swung into action and combed the enire town and also checked hotels and lodges to find out whether there were any outsiders.
Meanwhile, police picked up a youth on Friday morning for questioning, they said.
