Two more suspects have been arrested for the gang rape of an MBA student in Noida by 10 men that shocked residents of the Indian capital and surrounding areas earlier this week, police said on Saturday.
The two teenagers were arrested Friday night during searches conducted on their houses, according to the police. One is a resident of Sector 39 and the other lives at Garhi Chaukhandi village in the district.
So far nine of the suspects have been arrested for allegedly raping the MBA student Monday night when she was leaving a popular mall here with a friend, the police said.
Five men were arrested Tuesday and sent to 14 days' police custody, and the other four were nabbed in subsequent search operations, the police said.
The management student from south Delhi had gone with her friend to the mall in Sector 18 market for shopping.
The suspects were returning after playing a cricket match. “They were carrying cricket bats and stumps. They got down from their bikes and one of them took the wheel of the car. The other men thrashed the friend and they drove the car to a secluded spot in Noida Sector 71,” a police officer said.
“They then allegedly took turns to rape the victim,” the officer said.
