The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has upgraded two of its secondary schools to senior secondary level in the Tilak Marg and Lodhi Estate areas. NDMC officials said that it has also merged four of its schools and upgraded them to the secondary level for providing quality education to the children.
To find out if schools need to be upgraded, the civic agency had constituted a survey committee which assessed which schools needed merging depending on the strength of the students.
“The survey committee had recommended that there was a demand for upgrading the schools by the NDMC area residents. Also, after implementation of the new CBSE grading system in Class 10, it is necessary to go to the senior secondary schools,” said a senior NDMC official.
