2 ultras killed, 4 arrested with arms and ammunition

Two terrorists, including a foreigner, are killed while four others are arrested in separate incidents along with the seizure of a huge quantity of arms and ammunition in Kashmir valley.

Two terrorists, including a foreigner, were killed while four others were arrested in separate incidents along with the seizure of a huge quantity of arms and ammunition Kashmir valley since Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.

During search operation in general area of Bosgi Tulail in Bandipora district the troops of 17 Sikh regiment recovered four AK 56 rifles, 33 magazines, 7470 rounds, five UBGL, 34 UBGL grenades, 22 hand grenades, two nine mm pistols, its three magazines, 25 IEDs, a police spokesman told PTI.

In a separate incident in Zalora-Sopore in Baramulla district, troops of 22 Rashtirya Rifles killed a foreign terrorist in an encounter in the wee hours of Wednesday, Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla Viplav Kumar said.

Kumar said one AK rifle, a grenade and some rounds of ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorist.

Another terrorist was killed in a gun battle with police and security forces at Bayan Baikh in Handwara area of Kupwara district on Tuesday night, a police spokesman said.

Also, two terrorists, identified as Shabir Ahmad Dar of Al-barq outfit and Siraj Ahmad Bhat of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit were arrested from Bemina area in Srinagar today and four hand grenades were recovered from his possession, he added.

Another terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit, Latif Ahmad Bhat was arrested in Putrigam-Rajpora in Pulwama district on Tuesday night along with one AK magazine and 160 rounds of ammunition, the spokesman said.

In a different operation, search party of 47 Rashtriya Rifles at nabbed an overground worker of LeT outfit Mushtaq Ahm Chak Nutnus in Kupwara district.
