A rape convict out on parole has allegedly killed his aunt and a woman neighbour, both widows, for indulging in "immoral activities" in a Haryana village.
Naresh, in his twenties, on Sunday had a heated argument with his neighbour Suman, 33, during which he accused her of promiscuity, the police said. He then allegedly attacked her with a stick, killing her on the spot, even as other villagers looked on.
The incident took place at Ranila village in Bhiwani.
Naresh later went to the house of his aunt, Shakuntala, 36, and accused her of tarnishing the image of the family by indulging in immoral activities. He went on to attack her with the same stick. Shakuntala also succumbed to injuries on the spot.
The police reached the spot after some villagers informed them, and sent the bodies for autopsy. The bodies were handed over to the families on Monday. Naresh has surrendered and confessed to the double murder, the police said.
