21 kg gold offered to Lord Balaji

A golden shield (Peethambaram) worth Rs 3.7 crore was offered to Lord Venkateswara of the famous hill shrine at Tirumala by a Congress Lok Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

A golden shield (Peethambaram) worth Rs 3.7 crore was offered to Lord Venkateswara of the famous hill shrine at Tirumala by a Congress Lok Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

Nellore MP M R Reddy handed over the offering weighing 21 kg to the temple administration, sources said.

This is the second such huge offering made at the temple recently. Earlier on June 11, Karnataka Minister for Tourism, G J Reddy presented a diamond-studded gold crown worth Rs 45 crore to Lord Venkateswara.
