Twenty seven people were killed in different parts of the state due to rains and storm which uprooted trees, telephone and electricity poles.

While seven were killed in Hardoi, six in Mathura, two each Lucknow, Mainpuri and Aligarh and one each from Etawah and Kannauj on Monday, police sources on Tuesday said.

Two persons were killed in Lucknow and five others injured on the city outskirts last night, when a tree was uprooted due to strong winds, they said.
