Even as Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee was busy preparing for her rally at Lalgarh, train robbers struck for the second time in three days in Bihar, on the Howrah-Patna line.

Six passengers of the Howrah-Amritsar Express were injured and cash and valuables worth Rs 1.5 lakh looted in Bihar's Jamui district on Sunday night. Robbers had struck the Sealdah-New Delhi Lal Quila Express in Lakhisarai district on Friday, injuring 21.

On Sunday, 30 robbers looted passengers in an AC coach and a sleeper coach and hit those who resisted with rifle butts. They then pulled the chain and fled.

A company of Bihar Military Police will be deployed in this section to escort trains.
