Suspected ULFA militants exploded three bombs targetting Independence Day parade grounds at lower Assam's Dhubri and Chirang district on Friday injuring one person.
One bomb went off at Dharamshala in Dhubri district at around 8.40 am, ahead of the official Independence Day celebration scheduled for 9 am, injuring one person, official sources said.
Another bomb tied atop a mango tree just behind the Guaripur parade ground in the district exploded at 8.48 am delaying the day's official programme, which started 10 minutes late at 9.10 am, sources said.
There was no casualty in the blast.
In Chirang district, an RDX bomb exploded about 120 meters away from the parade ground at 8.25 am. There was no casualty and the official programme took place on time.
