The Kalyan Government Railway Police (GRP) have caught arrested three children who pelted stones at trains and hit commuters with sticks, forcing them to drop their mobile phones.
Police inspector of the Kalyan GRP, Arun Jagtap, said: “The railway police have received several complaints of mobile thefts and in all cases, the modus operandi was same.”
The names of the three boys have been withheld to protect their identities because they are minors.
“We then increased patrolling on the tracks and laid a trap to nab the accused. We caught the three children and recovered five mobile phones from them,” Jagtap added.
