IN A tragic mishap on Tuesday night, three good Samaritans paid with their lives for deciding to carry an injured fellow villager to hospital, when the Jeep they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck near Chandukhedi on the outskirts of Capital under Parwalia police station area.
The three persons – Harinarayan Meena, Kanta Prasad Meena and Mahadev Meena — residents of Jhirnya village, were killed on the spot while four others including the earlier injured Lakhan Singh Master sustained grave injuries. The other injured are Laxman Singh, Dinesh and Teerath, it was learnt. They were brought to Bhopal for treatment.
As per information, six persons of Jhirnya village were returning to the village late on Tuesday evening in Jeep number MP 04 J 2043 from Bhopal when they chanced upon Lakhan Singh Master who was lying injured just on the outskirts of the village. His motorcycle had dashed into a stationary trolley. Finding that a fellow villager was injured, the persons decided to carry Master back to Bhopal for treatment.
On their way back, the Jeep collided head-on with truck number HR-38 K 2001 that was laden with oranges. The collision was so huge that both the vehicles overturned on impact, killing the three passengers travelling in jeep on the spot. The driver and cleaner of the truck fled after the incident. The injured were brought back to Bhopal for treatment.
