THREE PERSONS were arrested on Thursday in connection with the death of Waseemuddin, 32, who had got injured chasing a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) that had hit a schoolboy in Aishbagh three days back. The accused have now been booked for murder.
The SUV driver had not stopped the vehicle after hitting a boy, Rachit, near the Hind Convent School. Waseemuddin, a driver, chased the SUV and tried to stop it. He climbed up the bonnet and hung by it for a distance until he fell off and later succumbed to injuries.
The police had seized the SUV that had been hidden at a farmhouse near Mandideep ever since the incident. The three persons in the SUV, including Hardayal Singh, 35, resident of Narela Shankari, Nem Singh, 26, resident of Bilkhiri and G Joseph, resident of Bilkhiria, were arrested.
The police now booked the accused for murder as they had hit Waseemuddin, who had clung to the SUV until he fell off the speedily moving vehicle. Chain Singh Rajput owns the SUV. He told the police that his brother Hardayal had taken the vehicle. During interrogation, Hardayal confessed that he had hidden the vehicle in the farmhouse near Sakaria village in Mandideep.
