3 injured in bear attack in Bandipora

Three persons, including a woman, were injured when a wild bear attacked them in Bandipora district of north Kashmir on Monday evening.

A police spokesman said a black bear ventured into Budugam village near Dawar from a nearby forest on Monday evening and attacked a group of people.

The three injured persons were identified as Ateeqa Begum, Mohammad Shabir Lone and Mushtaq Ahmadwere, he said.

The bear was chased back into the forest by villagers and the injured were admitted to a hospital, the spokesman added.
