Floods continued to wreak havoc in several districts with the Ganga, Yamuna and Gomti flowing above the danger mark. Two persons died as a portion of their house collapsed on them after incessant rains in Farrukhabad district.

The situation in the two states eased with the authorities succeeding in plugging breaches in the Yamuna and Sutlej rivers at Karnal, Sonepat, Ropar and Yamunanagar districts. However, many areas in Punjab’s Kapurthala remained
submerged under flood water.

A boy was washed away in flash floods in a river in Rajouri district. A woman and her 11-year-old son were crossing a river in Sunderbandi belt of Rajouri district when flash floods washed away the child. The body was fished out 3 km from the spot.
