3 killed in road mishaps

Two people lost their lives another received severe injuries when the pick-up vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road near Chhor nullah here on Sunday.


The deceased have been identified as Pyare Lal (73) and Durga Singh (65), residents of Kot Chhenvar of Kullu district. The incident took place when driver Khem Singh lost control over the vehicle. Khem Singh received severe injuries on his body. He has been admitted to the Kullu civil hospital.

In another road accident, a tipper driver lost his life when the vehicle he was driving fell into the Beas river near Badah at Pirdi on the NH-21 here on Saturday evening. The incident took place when Makhan Lal, a resident of Kamand village of Mandi district, was on his way to Bhunter at Kullu. He died on the spot.

The postmortem of the deceased were conducted at the Kullu civil hospital and handed over to the families. The police have registered cases under Sections 279 and 304A of the IPC.
